Fisgard Lighthouse

For years now, my Gramma has been telling me how badly she wants a picture of the Fisgard Lighthouse.

I had an hour to myself a few months ago, so I took my camera to Fort Rodd Hill to see what I could do.  These are the two that I liked the best, so we framed them for her for Christmas.

iheartfaces - Week 51: Hilarious Outtakes

Christmas is over and we're right back into the contests at ifaces.  The theme this week is Hilarious Outtakes.  I knew I had a few funnies, but this is one of my favorites... I was standing at the bottom of the slide to catch the ear-to-ear grin on Tadpole's face as he slid down the "BIG SLIDE"... but about half way down he started to turn a little bit - and he ended up face down and falling right off - you'll notice he's still got that ear-to-ear grin though!

He stood up smiling, said "Crash!... AGAIN!" and he was off to climb back up to the top of the slide.  So much fun!

Head over to ifaces to see the rest of this weeks hilarious outtakes.

Flashback Friday - Christmas Meltdown 2008

We saw this one coming… too much excitement is not a good thing for our poor little man.  Tadpole was so wound up on Christmas day that he couldn’t fall asleep for his afternoon nap.  Instead, he did this...

Here's hoping that this year goes a little more smoothly!

MERRY CHRISTMAS blogland!!

Merry Christmas (Eve) !

Only one more day till Christmas... what better time to share the front of our Dey Family Xmas cards for this year... (I can't help but smile every time I look at Tadpole's cute little face... I'm such a proud Mummy!)

Engagement Portrait Photographer, Victoria BC

Meet Torie & Mike.  They're busy planning their October 2010 wedding (with the help of Victoria wedding planner Liz Fosdick).   A few weeks ago, Jen & I met up with them at Government House for some Engagement Portraits.
It was C.O.L.D. that afternoon, but we braved it for as long as we could, and I think we came away with some pretty decent images.

Congrats Torie & Mike!  Looking forward to the wedding in October.

And why the heck not?  Let's end things on a bit of a silly note... I love the look on Torie's face here:

iheartfaces - Week 50: My Story in Photos: Holiday Traditions

It's a non-contest week at ifaces, so everyone is invited to share their story in photos and the theme is Holiday Traditions.  I've already posted photos from our annual Xmas tree hunt last year and this year.  And a photo of Tadpole with Santa's cookies.  And his first visit with Santa last year.  And of course Tadpole's 1st Christmas morning.

So... I guess that just leaves the tree.  This year our tree is quite a bit smaller than usual, so a number of my favorite ornaments stayed packed away... but that didn't stop me from pulling out my camera last night and taking pictures of a few that are on display.

From the year that Mister and I got hitched:

From my Aunty & Uncle's wedding, waaaay back in the day ;)

From our our first Christmas as a little family:

From my Gramma when Tadpole was born:

From Grumpy & Granny, the year Mister and I got engaged:

Tadpole's favorite ornament this year... and a symbol of one of my all-time favorite Christmas traditions - the IIHF World Jr. Hockey Tournament.  Go Canada!!!

Flashback Friday - Christmas Morning 2008

It’s magic for so many reasons.  I can’t explain enough, just how much I love Christmastime… and then we added a Tadpole to the mix and it got even better!  Here’s our 1st Christmas morning as a happy little family...

Tadpole has to be doing the same thing as his Daddy...

Ah... the kleenex... Tadpole loves his kleenex...

And last but not least, Tadpole getting his first pair of skates from his Unk...

Engagement Portrait Photographer, Victoria BC

I've been struggling a little bit with getting this session edited... it's taking me much longer than I'd hoped. So today, instead of the full post, here's just one more sneak-peek... and fingers crossed that next week I'll get to share the rest!

I had so much fun with this family a few weeks ago... Now that their images have been delivered to them, I just had to post some more from their session...

And last but not least, my favorite of the day:

iheartfaces - Week 49: Pets Only

The ifaces contest theme this week is "Pets Only".  Since we live in a pet free house, I had to improvise a little bit.  It might make me ineligible to win, but it won't stop me from entering.

Meet "Munch"... Tadpole's best friend.  He's slept with him since he was a teeny bebe - and he takes him everywhere he goes.

Flashback Friday - Santa's Cookies

My favorite part of Christmas is tradition.  And my favorite part of having my own little family, is coming up with our own family traditions.  This is going to be one of them… leaving cookies (and homemade Irish Cream) for Santa.  Or, in this case, Tadpole eating the cookies that he’s supposed to be leaving for Santa!

Family Portrait Photographer, Victoria BC

Last Sunday morning I met up with this fun family for a quick portrait session.  In order to avoid a 100% windblown shoot, we started out at their home... and then we made our way to the Lagoon where we braved the cold and wind.
I do have more to share next week, but for now... just a quick peek:

PS:  How cute are these kids?  They totally crack me up... such individual personalities that really showed up in their photos.

Daddy's Boy

Oh man... why on earth has it taken me so long to get to these?  Earlier on in the summer, Mister and I took Tadpole to the park to play... he had so much fun with his Daddy.
